Business Description
TDS Logistics, Inc. ("TDS") is an international supplier of value
added material handling logistics solutions (inbound and outbound
logistics) to the automotive industry. The company is fully integrated
into the automotive production model with 33 plants located in nine
countries, primarily in North America and Europe. TDS provides
just-in-time mission critical services to the original equipment
manufacturers' assembly plants (inbound logistics) as well as
specialized export packaging and shipping (outbound logistics) primarily
to China.
Transaction Overview
Mezzanine financing was used to support the buyout of the Company
by a prominent U.S. equity sponsor and the management team.
In addition, the mezzanine debt gave the company additional
liquidity to finance growth and expand the business.
Exit Strategy
In February 2007, TDS Logistics and Walsh Western International
merged and the mezzanine debt was subsequently repaid. The merged
company will be a leading global provider of supply chain solutions for
the automotive industry, as well as the technology sector. The merged
company has a total of 54 facilities operating across North and South
America, Europe and Asia, employing more than 9,000 people globally.
